I was just curious. I have an 8GB IPod, and everything is on Itunes. I just planned to get a 16GB one when it dies.

well i mean all the music you have on itunes has to be stored somewhere so i assume that whereever that folder is you can just copy it into a zune program if you want to but it really isnt worth the hassle IMHO id just stay with an ipod =/

Most of what I have are alreadly on cds. I transfered what I listened to on Itunes. I got an Ipod for my birthday, I pretty much stuck to my portable cd player. I could wreck a Sony player in 3-4 years, any other brand in less than too.

If worse comes to worse, I'm planing on investing in a huge flash memory drive. I have one already that's 2 GB, and I mainly use it to store pictures and school stuff. I've tranfered photos from digtial cameras right to it so I could have them all in one place. Since I've gotten a new camera
with a 4 GB memory card, I plan on replacing it soon.

Well, for one. ITunes uses a different type of audio file then Zune, so even when you did transfer them, you'd have to convert every single music file that was not on CD, which, in my opinion is a bit of a pain, but I've done it before when I killed my ipod and transferred to my Zune. It did take quite a while seeing as I had 30 gigs of music on my ipod, the rest that wasn't on there was backed up though, so thank a higher being for that.

And, as for giant flash memory, an 8 gig flash drive only costs like, 20 or so now a days? At least, that's how much I got mine for, and I have 2 of them now. If you're looking at something bigger, there are 500 gig and such external hard drives that aren't too pricey. Not more then like 100 or so, but that's just my guess. (Possibly more? I'm not sure how much I got my 2 for, but that was a while ago, and I've just barely filled up one now.) But they definitely come smaller and cheaper then that.

and as far as the itunes goes ya thats true but there is this program i have called pepsky audio convertor that you can convert like mass files to a certain type of output file wma-->mp3 or w.e actualyl i was thinkin of investing in one anyway seeing as how it would be a good idea for me to get one to backup a few files =/

Er, well, there are a few ways of getting them for free.. But then again I am a giant pirate. >> Anyway, I don't know why you would need a converter just for backing up..? And ITunes converts your files automatically, the Zune soft ware just doesn't convert them back, but it also keeps them in that format.

I was considering a hard drive for the music. My friend's husband is a computer geek and had one full of movies. New Years Eve 2006 - he borrowed a projector from work and we watched movies that way.

I still plan on getting a decent size flash drive. I like to keep my pictures in one place and its easy if I decide to go to the pharmacy and get prints.
